Arnold Saunders selected as Kersal by-election candidate

Well known local champion Arnold Saunders has been selected by local Conservatives as their candidate for the forthcoming by-election in Kersal ward.

Arnold lives and works locally and acts as Religious Director of Newlands Care Home. He served as a civilian chaplain to HM Armed Forces and the Greater Manchester Army Cadet Force. He is the Rabbi of Higher Crumpsall & Higher Broughton Synagogue here in Kersal ward.

Arnold is a founding member of the Friends of Kersal Moor, and he is involved in many local community organisations, including the Cheetham Festival and Salford Healthy Communities. He is a member of the local Jewish Representative Council and serves on the education committee.

He is active in interfaith community work, particularly with the Muslim Jewish Forum and the Council of Christians and Jews. Arnold is an active member of Conservative Friends of Israel and the Conservative Muslim Forum.

Much sought after by media broadcasters, in addition to national and local newspapers, Arnold speaks with authority on matters relating to anti-Semitism and Holocaust-related issues.

If elected, Arnold will work to get the best deal for all members of the community - he will be a voice for local residents in the Council Chamber, not the Council’s mouthpiece in Kersal and Broughton Park. He will be a strong, independent-minded Councillor who works hard for residents in all parts of Kersal ward.
