Labour Vote Through 80% Pay Rise For Mayor

Local residents have been left in disbelief after Labour Councillors railroaded through proposals to give a massive pay hike to the City Mayor and his Deputy.

At the July Full Council meeting, plans were approved to pay the new City Mayor a massive £69000, and his Deputy almost £45000 - increases of 80% compared to the allowances paid for the previous leader and Deputy Leader.

Party Conference Registration Deadline Extended

The "early bird" registration for this year's Conservative Party Conference has been extended until the end of July, so there is still time for Salford members to register to attend Conference at the cheaper rate of £80 for the full week.

Conservative Party Conference 2012 is being held at the ICC in Birmingham from 7-10 October, and the initial registration deadline of 29th June is approaching.

Polling stations across Salford are open today from 7am until 10pm. Please put Salford first by voting Karen Garrido first preference for Mayor, and by voting for your local Conservative Council candidates.

There's just one day left to register to vote for a fresh start in this year's election. Electoral registration closes on Wednesday 18th April, along with the period for applying to vote by post.
