Conservative members in Salford have selected Lancastrian vicar Greg Downes to be their Parliamentary Candidate for the Salford & Eccles constituency.
"I am delighted to have been selected as the Conservative candidate for Salford & Eccles for the forthcoming General Election and I look forward to meeting as many people as possible over the coming months and listening to their needs and aspirations. If elected as your MP, I would endeavour to be a person of integrity who represents the area well and champions local interests."
Greg currently works as a vicar in North Yorkshire and his experience includes time as a school teacher, prison chaplain and college lecturer. He is married to Tamie, a local GP, and they have two young daughters.
