A huge thank you to everyone who turned out to vote Conservative in the elections on Thursday 5th May.
Following this year's elections, Conservatives retain their position as the official and only opposition on Salford City Council - only your local Conservatives can provide an opposition to the Labour-run Council and hold them to account.
Mayoral candidate Cllr Robin Garrido claimed a strong second place and increased the Conservative vote compared to the previous election in 2012.
In the local elections, Conservatives retained both the seats we were defending - Cllr Karen Garrido was re-elected in the Worsley ward and Bob Clarke was elected as the new Councillor for Boothstown & Ellenbrook ward, replacing Cllr Andy Cheetham who stood down at the election.
In addition there were near-misses in Walkden South and Kersal as our candidates Anne Broomhead and Arnold Saunders narrowly failed to unseat Labour incumbents. Anne and Arnold would have made fantastic Councillors and we hope that they will have the chance to serve in the near future.
