All Salford Conservative candidates for local and parliamentry elections would like to thank residents for their support.
Conservatives retained all three of their existing council seats while increasing the majority in the face of determined opposition. A strong and consistant showing was evident across the city with a significant shift towards the Conservatives in Ordsall, Barton, Swinton and Eccles wards. In other wards UKIP were forced into third place or their margin over the Conservatives being greatly reduced. In Kersall ward the Conservatives came within 239 votes of winning the seat from Labour.
