Iain Lindley

Iain one of your local Conservative Councillors for Walkden South ward, alongside Cllr Les Turner.

Iain grew up in Walkden, attending James Brindley Primary School, Walkden High School and Eccles College before graduating from the University of York.

Iain was elected as Councillor for Walkden South in June 2004, and was re-elected in 2007, 2011 and 2015. He was the Conservative Parliamentary Candidate for Worsley & Eccles South constituency in 2010 and in 2015 and was elected as Chairman of Salford Conservatives in March 2016. He is Chief Whip of the Conservative Councillors Group.

Iain was appointed to the Greater Manchester Fire & Rescue Authority in 2008 and served as the Chairman of the Human Resources Committee in 2010/11. He sits on the Children’s Services Scrutiny Panel and Growth & Prosperity Scrutiny Panel at the town hall.

In his spare time, Iain enjoys playing tennis and table-tennis, watching football and ice hockey, listening to music and walking in the Lake District fells. He works in Greater Manchester for a housing association.
